Quiet, Peaceful Places to Eat Near Malls and Shopping Centers
Several years ago, our sister site (Boston Restaurant Talk) had a post on Quiet Restaurants Near Busy Boston-Area Malls, with a sampling of spots that were peaceful alternatives to the often-hectic eateries found in some of the big shopping areas around Boston--especially during the holiday season. And while all of the restaurants listed continue to be viable options (and all remain open after all these years!), it might be nice to come up with a more detailed list of restaurants that are good places to take a break from the shopping--and the crowds.
Which dining spots do you find to be good spots to go to near the big malls and shopping areas in and around the city? There are some new shopping places that have opened since the earlier list came out, so feel free to mention restaurants near some of those via the comments section below, thanks!

Boston-Area Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving, 2013
A number of folks have asked if we have a list of restaurants in the Boston area that are open on Thanksgiving Day. Well, Boston Magazine has a running list on their site, as does Eater Boston with a page of their own, and BostonChefs.com with another list, and this blog entry will do pretty much the same, albeit in a simpler format (Eater, Boston Magazine, and BostonChefs.com include descriptions of what each dining spot is doing for Turkey Day). If you know of any spots that are open on Thanksgiving, please comment here or let us know via Facebook or Twitter and we'll add them, Thanks!
And now, the list (so far). Please call in advance if you're thinking of going to one of these places, as things can always change--and reservations are probably a very, very good idea. [Note: Some of the info below comes from a page on OpenTable.]

Twelve Cheesy Items from Places in the Boston Area and Beyond
We have done a lot of different slideshows over the past couple of years, including ones on burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and comfort foods. But this one is just a little different, focusing on a specific ingredient--cheese--that is included in various food appetizers, meals, and desserts. Twelve such items are shown here, with most of them being from lesser-known spots in and around Boston, though a few places are outside of the area (though still close enough to be done on a day trip).
Here are the twelve "cheesy" items from restaurants and food places in and around the area.
