The Grand Damme of Boston Steak Houses, Abe & Louie's. though to call it a "steak house" is to reduce it to the level of chains> It's really just an excellent restaurant that serves a lot of beef. Case in point: I had lobster. Yum.

Had brunch at Gaslight in the South End on Saturday with 7 friends; brunch @ Seaglass Restaurant in Salisbury today.
Gaslight = 4.5 stars; Seaglass = 2.5 stars, except for the company I kept and DJ Lisa Garvey doing a "Brunch By The Sea" playing jazz, blues, and little bit of funk.

Tavern in the Square (Porter)'s creative Sunday brunch! Delicious, inexpensive, uncrowded BUFFET! The usuals of breakfast and lunch well done, plus innovative cranberry cheese hash browns, chicken sausage gumbo in pastry cups, honey walnut french toast, rosemary pork loin... and a make your own sundae bar! YUM!

At The Ruby Room at the Onyx Hotel near North Station I had a great portabello mushroom flatbread. It's a hidden gem even on St. Pat's, as the bar patrons were a cut above the yahoos lined up at the Irish bars down the block!

Finz...Pickering Wharf, Salem...grazed our way thru oysters, then starters...entrees..and ended with more oysters...edamame fantastic...crab cake moist and delicious...Black and White Sesame Tuna (only get it RAW)...with rice and seaweed salad to die for...hubby had mac and cheese with lobster...but Wellfleet oysters stole the show...expertly prepared and served...a dozen lasted...about 2 minutes!

We were at the vestiges of the Oak Room on Friday night to say goodbye. It's passing is so sad. On Saturday night we were at Osaka Japanese Steak House in Brookline for the first time. It was lots of fun and the food was great. Tonight we were at old favorite Casa Romero in the Back Bay for wonderful mole chicken and sangria!!!

Went to the Great Escape, Salem MA.. This place is the old Essex County House of Correction, or more affectionately known as Salem Jail. Food was Good and the service was excellent, Sonia was our server. Free valet parking and Jail house decor.
