My wife and I as well as other friends have eaten there quite a few times and the meals have been "great" every time. It would be worth the trip if you like food from Europe (old world).

Thought mother's day brunch would be fantastic at Silvia's but it was terrible. Food was cold and surprisingly not good at all considering food has typically been quite tasty. Buffet set-up and table arrangements made it extremely congested and the service was terrible. Even water was not provided at tables - everything was self-serve despite the high built-in gratuity. I highly recommend avoiding this place for brunch.

Silvia may be a little strange by MA/CT standards but if your parents were immigrants she won't seem strange at all. Pretty decent food is the understatement of the year. This restaurant is worth a trip from Boston!

*****KK Taylor from Enfield, CT, says:
The owner is one wacked out wingnut, but she manages to serve up pretty decent food. Beware the "home-made" wine. It's whatever 5 gallon jug is on sale at the liquor store mixed with grape juice! She doesn't allow the help to speak with the customers! Entertaining in a very bizarre way. Better for her brunch, overstuffed omelets and lots of breads baked on the premises.
