Who Makes the Best Italian Sub in Boston?
(From Our Questions and Answers Feature)
What restaurant, sub shop, or Italian market makes what you consider to be the best Italian cold cut sub in or very near Boston? It sounds like some of the favorites are in East Boston and the North End. Are there any you like in either of these areas, or elsewhere in the city? [Go here to post a reply.]

Definitely check out Mignosas Fruit Center in Quincy. Boars Head cold cuts are sliced to order. Just pick out a nice fresh roll and let them know what you want. They don't skimp and the prices are great. Sandwiches are priced according to the size roll you get. The french roll italian runs about $3.99.

I have to second Peg's entry. A Quincyan friend of mine has taken me to Mignosa's Market for lunch a couple of time. First time I was there I got roast beef, second time an Italian. In both cases, I was more than satisfied. Great sandwiches, incredibly cheap.

I vote for Bob's in Medford. There's something about that braided sub roll that makes everything good.
