Best Eggs Benedict in the Boston Area?
(From Our Questions and Answers Feature)
What restaurant do you think makes the best eggs benedict in Boston or the surrounding area? What makes it better than others you've tried - the hollandaise sauce, the herbs and spices used, perhaps the quality of the Canadian bacon? [Go here to post a reply.]

I like the Empire Eggs at Zaftig's... smoked salmon in place of ham and latkes in place of English muffins.

I'm still searching for the perfect Boston benedict. But if we're talking benedict-style, I have to go with Plough and Stars for their poached eggs with pork confit, beautifully toasted English muffins and lovely roasted garlic hollandaise. Because let's be honest - when given the choice between pork confit and any kind of Canadian bacon, the choice is clear. Also, since the English muffins are on the side, they maintain their crunch, whereas muffins under a regular benedict tend not to. The one thing I would change about the Plough poached eggs is remove the excessive garnish of whole chives, in a loose interpretation of a star pattern (get it? Plough and Stars?), from the top. It's silly and does nothing for the dish except get briefly between me and the best breakfast in town.

Broadway Cafe, 402 West Broadway, Boston
Hands down the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. My fiancee is an Eggs Benedict afficionado, and had tried Eggs Benedict around the country. Broadway Cafe is her current choice for #1!

How has Renee's (on Holland near Davis Sq) not been mentioned yet? Forget the Ball Square competition - Renee's wins this hands down.
