Burgers: Griddled, Grilled, or Broiled?

How do you like your burgers cooked? I usually like them griddled best, since I tend to like thin patties with lots of juice, but during the summer especially, I tend to eat grilled burgers a bit more often (mainly because there are barbecues happening nearly every weekend). I don't have broiled burgers quite as often, but don't mind them, either. What is your preference for cooking burgers?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Miscellaneous Topics forum)

Seafood at the Three Cod Tavern in Marblehead?

Now that Maddie's Sail Loft is closed, I need to find another restaurant to go to in Marblehead for food and drink. I like The Landing, but wouldn't mind having other options to go to in the area. How is the Three Cod Tavern? I noticed that they have a lot of seafood dishes on their menu.
Interesting Restaurants in Easthampton, MA?

I may be doing a food-based road trip this summer roughly following the Connecticut River between Greenfield and Springfield. I know all about Northampton, but have never been to Easthampton and know very little about it. From what I've seen on MySpace, there are a lot of artists and musicians in the town, so I'm thinking there might be a few funky, offbeat restaurants there. Can anyone suggest any dining spots that might be worth going to in Easthampton?

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Who Has the Best Boneless Wings in Boston?

I tend to like boneless buffalo wings better than traditional wings (partly because you don't need to work for what you eat). My favorites in the Boston area include Cambridge Common in Cambridge and Wendell's in Norton, but I can't seem to find too many others that I like a lot.
Does anyone know of any restaurants in Rhode Island with lakeside dining (preferably with an outdoor deck on a lake)? It looks like a classic roadside spot for food; we would have tried it, but we had eaten a late breakfast.

(Posted by hiddenboston in Hidden Restaurants -- Specific Topics forum)

Anyone Eaten at the Kinsale Inn in Mattapoisett?

We were driving around the south coast of Massachusetts last weekend and went by the Kinsale Inn in Mattapoisett at one point. I had been in there awhile back (I think it used to be called the Mattapoisett Inn?), checking out the atmosphere (nice) and the menu, but we never got a chance to eat there. Has anyone tried it? If so, what items on the menu are worth trying?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Hidden Restaurants -- Specific Topics forum)

Best Italian Restaurant in Stowe, VT?

On our way up to La Siesta in Winthrop (a great restaurant, by the way), we passed a Mexican restaurant on Saratoga Street in East Boston called Tequilas Mexican Bar and Grill. It was in a commercial district in the Orient Heights section of Eastie, near the Winthrop line, and it looked intriguing from the outside, but I have never heard of the place.
Manchester, NH Restaurant Recommendations?

After seeing some interesting diners and family restaurants on TV during the New Hampshire primaries, I've decided that I need to do a food trip to Manchester, NH (much like the ones we've done in Providence, Lawrence, and the New Haven area). I'd like to know about some of the best diners, roadside food places, and family restaurants that can be found in Manchester. I'd like to concentrate on lesser-known dining spots, so the Red Arrow Diner is probably out, but maybe I'll be able to squeeze that one in, too, just out of curiosity.

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

As the weather cools, I find myself looking for that perfect comfort food - Beef Stew, or Shephards Pie, or, well, you have the idea. What are some of your favorite places to go to for great fall comfort foods?

(Posted by MLM in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Who Makes the Best Doughnuts in the Boston Area?

I keep hearing that Kane's in Saugus may have the best donuts in the Boston area, but I've only tried their coffee rolls, which are incredible. Are they indeed the best donut shop in the Boston area, or is there another one out there that is just as good or better then Kane's?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Miscellaneous Topics forum)

Good Seafood Options at Trader Joe's?

I never seem to have gotten a good seafood item from any of the Trader Joe's that I go to. The frozen fish, in particular, has been pretty bad, in my opinion. Are there any seafood dishes or items worth buying at Trader Joe's?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Miscellaneous Topics forum)

Favorite Farm Stands in Vermont?

I will be in Vermont a couple of times during fall foliage season this year, going through or near towns such as Stowe, Waterbury, Waitsfield, Woodstock, Grafton, Ludlow, Weston, Jamaica, and Wilmington. Can anyone recommend some nice farm stands (preferably with scenic views) near any of these towns? Basically, I will be pretty close to Route 100 no matter where I am, so anything near that road would be great. Thanks!

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Tea Houses in Boston?

I often find myself at Tealuxe in Providence when I'm in the area, but never seem to end up at any tea houses when I'm in Boston. I know there are at least a couple of Tealuxe branches in the Boston area, but are there any really nice tea houses in or near Boston that I should be trying?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Boston Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Seafood Shacks in Gloucester?

We were up in the Gloucester area last weekend. Tried to find The Causeway restaurant, but were unsuccessful, so we continued on, noticing several seafood shacks. Finally, we decided on Captain Carlo's on the Harbor Loop near the center of Gloucester. It was very good; the fried scallops were excellent, and the haddock was decent, too. I'd like to try some other seafood restaurants in Gloucester, though, including The Causeway (if I can ever find it). Are there other seafood shacks that are better than these two places? Let me know. Thanks!

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Where to Go in Boston for Greek Pizza?

I'm one of those odd ducks who really likes Greek pizza. I know that traditional Italian pizza is what most people like, and I do love thin-crust pizza, but I love getting Greek pies from places such as Nick's in Medford, Braintree House of Pizza in South Braintree, and the Villa in Arlington Heights. Where are some other places to get a good Greek pizza in the Boston area?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Boston Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

What Is the Best Seafood Restaurant in Essex?

I know all about Woodman's in Essex, and I love going to the Village Restaurant, which is just up the street, but what about some of the other seafood restaurants in Essex? Any others?

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Where to go in Charlestown for food?

Charlestown is one of the few neighborhoods in Boston where I rarely go for food. I know there are some good restaurants in Charlestown, but many of them, such as Tangierino and Copia, are a bit too expensive and upscale for my liking, even though I know they are top-quality restaurants.

(Posted by hiddenboston in Boston Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Polynesian Restaurants in the Boston Area?

All right, I know that Polynesian restaurants tend to be tacky and cheesy, and the food is sometimes pretty bad (and really bad for you), but I kinda like going to these places, maybe because they bring back memories of my youth. I know all about Kowloon in Saugus and Bali Hai in Lynnfield, and I've heard of the Tahiti Restaurant in Dedham. Are there any others in the Boston area that I'm forgetting? Let me know so I can get to one or two of them!

(Posted by hiddenboston in Boston Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Does anyone know of a top bottle of pinot noir wine that is $25 or less? If so, what liquor stores in the Boston area can you buy it? I've had some really bad pinot noir over the past year and would like to find a couple of brands that are at the top of the heap.

(Posted by restaurant1 in Miscellaneous Topics forum)

Restaurants Along Route 91 in Connecticut?

Can anyone tell me about good, casual roadside restaurants near Route 91 between the Massachusetts border and New Haven? I've been on that road several times of late and, except for Doogies in Newington and the Glenwood Drive In over in Hamden (and all the pizza places in New Haven), I haven't found many places to go to. Any suggestions?

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Restaurant or Bar With Best Beer Selection in Boston?
