*****MZ from Milford says:
Victorian Age-lovingly-remodeled train station-to-restaurant. with delicious food, friendly staff, and even walks down memory lane with old photos and signs. We've been for lunches and a group brunch (with dessert and coffee in the dining car), and it was all WONDERFUL!!

Stopped there last year with some friends and we are all glad we did. The food was great, the atmosphere very pleasant as well as the wait staff. We are all looking forward to eating there again this year when we are out that way.

Four of us had dinner @ S.T. last nite. No complaints at all! Everyone enjoyed their food, they have good draft beers and the prices are reasonable, if not really good if you want the specials. It's not gourmet. Nothing fancy, but I don't get it's not good. I think they had an "disgruntled employee" writing the bad stuff.

I love the restaurant. My boyfriend Paul G and his twin sisters live in Munson, Mass, and my first time there they took me to "The Steaming Tender." It is such a beautiful place. We are coming down this weekend April 4 for dinner there and I would give anything for a tour of the place...I talk about it a lot up here....

*****Amanda Offspringer from Springfield, MA, says:
We first visited Steaming Tender in October of 2008 on the recommendation of a co-worker of mine. We were highly impressed from the minute we walked inside the restaurant.
Having come from a railroading family, I could appreciate the love and effort that had gone into restoring this train station. The memorabilia displayed throughout the building were fascinating glimpses into the past. We could even watch trains rumble by as we ate.
Once we were seated, our needs and wants were tended to with friendliness and efficiency. Dishes were explained and questions were answered knowledgeably.
All of that, however, would have been for naught had the food not been of high quality. I personally recommend the broiled scallops. I have not had such good (read fresh AND perfectly prepared) scallops in many, many moons. Additionally, they make their own tartar sauce. Every other tartar sauce maker pales next to theirs. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Accompaniments - potato and vegetable - were plentiful and well-prepared. One word of caution, however: Desserts are also great and of good size. You will not leave the place hungry under ANY circumstances.
