*****Paulo from Revere, MA, says:
Just happened on it yesterday and we were very pleased. Great Seafood - the very best seafood chowdah (since the early days at Legal). Will go back again and again to try much more of the menu. Right now, I'll reheat the seafood marinara for lunch. yum.

*****KNG from North Wales, PA, says:
This was the best seafood dinner I've ever had and I wish I had the recipe for the fish chowder. It was so delicious I'd drive the 7 hours to go back for a cup!

*****Wayne from Salem, MA, says:
Huge portions, beautifully prepared, my wife and I share "Peter's Platter." - it is so large - several times every summer.

*****ck from Wakefield, MA, says:
Awesome restaurant. VERY casual so you can go after beach. You will never go away hungry from this place. The most reasonable prices we have ever found. 2 things - yes, you might feel rushed but if you tell them you want to relax and slow down they will definitely do that. Sal did leave. He was the one who really rushed you but he did not own the place. Believe it is the same owner. Please don't let Phantom rate this restaurant. In our house if Phantom rates it as good we never go. Their reviews are so biased it is ridiculous!

*****MBM from Newburyport, MA says:
The food is good and it comes out really fast. The waitstaff always seem to rush you. If you sit in the room near the door, you always have the long wait line hovering over you while you eat.

*****Yousef from Peabody, MA says:
Well-prepared food, fast service. Great prices. As you guys all have heard it is a hidden restaurant; as you guys may or may not know the business has been sold. Sal has left as I hear.

*****Angela and Eugene Cross from Boston, MA say:
This restaurant is fabulous. We got the name from a local while we were staying in Gloucester for a getaway and have been coming back ever since. Sometimes on a weekend, we'll just take a drive up for the day just to have lunch here. We're good eaters but always manage to take some home because the portions are so large. This place needs to be on the Phantom Gourmet. It's such a hole in the wall, it's easy to miss. The place, staff, and food are excellent.

*****MDR from Lewistown, PA says:
Got the name of this place from a local on a dock. In his words, "Trust me." Pulled into the parking lot and almost pulled right back out. Not much to look at but we "trusted" the local. Our reward was the most fabulous fish dinner we've ever had. Tender, delicious baked haddock - an inch thick and so big it was hanging out over the sides of the plate. We felt like we discovered a hidden treasure!!

*****Dan and Connie from Wasilla, Alaska say:
We've been here once but are on the way back. There is no description that can do justice to this place - it's way beyond great!
Friends took us and we're bringing friends (from Alaska) just so they can experience this wonderful restaurant.
As noted above, the portions are gigantic, the prices are very fair and the experience is worth the trip.
Please, leave some room for us.

Kdolan from Stoneham, MA says:
I had to meet a client in Gloucester and was told about this restaurant. Portions are huge, food is excellent, service is very good. Have been back twice in the last month, most recently with my wife and kids. Everyone loved it. Order the fish chowder for appetizer, but only order the cup, it's as big as a soup bowl.

Mary T from Gloucester, MA says:
Recently moved back to Gloucester from the Boston area after several years. The entire time I lived away from Gloucester, I made the trip to The Causeway for take out to bring home. The Mussels and Calamari Marinara is the best I have ever had. First time I ordered it, I got 2 orders (for 2 people). Well, imagine my surprise when I got home and realized that 1 order was MORE than enough for 3 people let alone 2! In fact, I plan on getting an order later this week! My daughter visits from Western Mass. just to go to the Causeway! LOVE IT!

cn from Beverly, MA says:
When my father comes to visit from Springfield, MA, he always wants to go to this restaurant. The two of us always share the seafood marinara, which is always enormous and prepared perfectly. The seafood is always fresh and portioned more than generously. My dad and I end up taking home enough for lunch and dinner for the next day - and we are big eaters. The service is fast and friendly, and they also let you bring in your own beer and wine. (The package store next door is quite convenient.) I can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

Frank Ryan from Salem says:
A more or less hidden gem. Food well prepared. Service fast. Portions generous. Prices modest. There cannot possibly be a better value in this universe (to put it humbly!). Try it.
