Ernie's Lunch in Melrose?

(From Our Questions and Answers Feature)

There is this little restaurant on Franklin Street in Melrose (near the Stoneham line) that I drove by the other day. It's called Ernie's Lunch and it looked like your classic family diner. Is it worth trying? Are there many tables inside? How crowded does it get? It's one of those places that feels way off the beaten track, so I'm admittedly intrigued by the place. It's closed every time I walk by on my way to Peacuddy's, a pretty good bakery right up the street. Peeking in it seems a bit on the dingy side, but that's just me and I've been accused on more than one occasion of being a bit of a snob so YMMV :-)
