Anh Hong or Saigon Seafood (Dorchester)?

I was cutting through Dorchester on my way to Quincy last night and noticed a couple of Vietnamese restaurants on Adams Street just outside of Fields Corner. One was called Anh Hong and the other was called Saigon Seafood Restaurant, and they were more or less across the street from each other. I think I've heard of Anh Hong, but have never heard of Saigon Seafood. Any opinions on either place?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Hidden Restaurants -- Specific Topics forum)

Middle Eastern Restaurants South of Boston?

Other than Byblos in Norwood (and that's really more southwest of Boston), I can't really think of any Middle Eastern restaurants south of Boston. Does anyone know of any? I'm sure there are some in Providence, but I was thinking more of the area of Massachusetts from Boston southward to the South Coast, as well as Cape Cod.

(Posted by hiddenboston in Boston Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Info on Grandma Frisbees in Londonderry, VT?

We were in Vermont last weekend, driving east from Londonderry to Chester after a stop at the Vermont Country Store in Weston, and we noticed a cozy-looking restaurant on the side of Route 11 near Magic Mountain called Grandma Frisbees. After doing a search online and coming up with nothing, now I'm really curious about the place. Has anyone been? What kind of food do they have there?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Hidden Restaurants -- Specific Topics forum)

Are There Any Good Restaurants in Wilmington or Tewksbury?

I'm in the Wilmington and Tewksbury area a lot these days, and have yet to find (or hear about) a decent restaurant in either town. Is there any dining spot worth going to in Wilmington or Tewksbury? I'm looking for more of a sitdown, full-service restaurant, so takeout places aren't really an option (unless they are really good).

(Posted by hiddenboston in Boston Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Delis in Connecticut (Other Than Reins)?

Does anyone know of any good delis in Connecticut? I go to Reins Deli off of Route 84 in Vernon every now and then, but it's really just for the convenience of it being between Boston and New York City. I did get to Katz's Restaurant and Deli in Woodbridge and liked it a lot, but a couple of people in my family went fairly recently and were underwhelmed by the place....

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Best Corned Beef Sandwich in Boston?

How Are the Hot Dogs at Tom's in Whately?

I was traveling through the Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires over the past few days, and ALMOST got to a roadside food joint called Tom's in Whately. It was about midway between Route 2 and the Mass. Pike, though, so as it turns out, Tom's was a bit too far out of the way for me. Has anyone been to this place? How are the hot dogs there? Is Tom's worth checking out whenever I'm in the Berkshires or the Pioneer Valley again?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Hidden Restaurants -- Specific Topics forum)

Mountaintop Restaurants in New England?

I was doing a search a few weeks ago, looking to see if there were any restaurants in New England that were located on top of a mountain or hill, with sweeping views from either an outdoor deck or from the windows of the place. With fall coming around, I was hoping to find a dining spot or two that might have such views, but haven't really found anything to this point. I do remember that there was a restaurant near the top of a mountain on Route 9 in Wilmington, VT, that had amazing views, but I believe it closed awhile ago. Any ideas?

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Restaurants Between Manchester and Rutland, VT?

I am hoping to get up to Vermont at least a couple of times this fall, including once around Weston (and the Vermont Country Store, of course!). If I go to Weston, I'd like to explore some areas I know little about, including the stretch of Route 7 between Manchester and Rutland. Are there any good restaurants along or just off of Route 7 between those two places? It looks pretty rural on the map, so I figure there might not be much in that area, but just wanted to check anyways.

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)

Seafood at the Three Cod Tavern in Marblehead?

Now that Maddie's Sail Loft is closed, I need to find another restaurant to go to in Marblehead for food and drink. I like The Landing, but wouldn't mind having other options to go to in the area. How is the Three Cod Tavern? I noticed that they have a lot of seafood dishes on their menu. Are there any dishes that stand out? If not, is there another restaurant in Marblehead that I can go to for seafood and beer?

(Posted by hiddenboston in Hidden Restaurants -- Specific Topics forum)

Interesting Restaurants in Easthampton, MA?

I may be doing a food-based road trip this summer roughly following the Connecticut River between Greenfield and Springfield. I know all about Northampton, but have never been to Easthampton and know very little about it. From what I've seen on MySpace, there are a lot of artists and musicians in the town, so I'm thinking there might be a few funky, offbeat restaurants there. Can anyone suggest any dining spots that might be worth going to in Easthampton?

(Posted by hiddenboston in New England Restaurants -- General Topics forum)
