READERS' REVIEWS OF HU KE LAU:
*****Michelle from Boston, MA, says:
The food was bad and the waitress was bad as well; I did not like the atmosphere, it is very plain looking inside, I wanted to feel like I was in Hawaii. I guess the highlight would be the actual show. They need to upgrade.

*****Kevin from Springfield, MA, says:
Not as good as I expected. Beef w/garlic sauce was very good. Fried rice horrible, just rice inundated with soy sauce. Egg Roll mushy. Service fine.

*****Megan from Connecticut says:
The comedy show was the only redeeming quality of this restaurant.
The food was overpriced and the service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and over an hour for our food. There definitely weren't enough servers on the floor and our waitress was MIA for over half an hour. When the food finally came out it was cold.
The Hu Ke Lau has a $10 minimum and gratuity is included for their comedy club. I won't go back there again.

Chinese food is great, sushi from Chef Jon is the best around.

This place is awesome. It's not just about the atmosphere, the food is amazing. Previous reviewers have complained about the pricing and said that it was regretful; I disagree. The food is awesome and the portions are huge. Way larger portions than any other Chinese/Japanese restaurant. And I'm a tough one when it comes to Asian cuisine. Give it a try!

*****Lu from Chicopee, MA, says:
Ok, you are totally paying for the atmosphere here. The food is nothing special. In fact, it's pretty bad and overpriced compared to other similar restaurants. Everything on the menu sounds good, but once it's brought to your table and you put your fork in your mouth, you immediately start to regret spending the money. Everything here is about $2-3 dollars more than your average Chinese/Japanese restaurant. Even the soup!

This place is really cool. They have good shows, too. They used to have a buffet but I dont know if they got rid of it though, but it is very cool. Average food but different atmosphere.
